The Rochester Fencing Club came to Metrix just as sisters and fellow Olympians Iris and Felicia Zimmermann were buying the club from its former owners. The Zimmermanns knew that to survive and thrive, the RFC had to occupy a bigger place in the awareness of Rochester’s parents, who are their primary target audience. Metrix put together a tight-budget public relations campaign that included news releases, media relations, business consulting and introductions to individuals who could be important to their ongoing success. As a result of this partnership, Metrix secured a page 1 Sunday business section feature article on the Zimmermann’s takeover of the club and numerous stories and mentions in the sports and local sections of daily and community newspapers, as well as several packages on television and radio. Metrix also developed a marketing plan for the organization, worked with them to refine their pricing packages, led a brand workshop and helped them find new quarters for two of its key programs.
